The Day After....Meltdowns

After being cooped up in the house Christmas day, due to rain and a certain someone who played a video game for like 7 hours, that certain someone had some, no a LOT, of extra energy to burn off. So I sent him outside to jump on the trampoline.....

looking for her Bubba

on her tippy toes... :)

O~"can i come in now"
me~"no not yet, go jump some more"

O~"can i come in now?"
me~"nope, you need to jump some more"
O~"how much longer???"
me~"jump 100 times, then you can come in"
I started taking pictures with my new lens :) of this beauty....

she is trying to figure out if she can climb UP THE DOOR! oh my goodness this girl...busted her mouth 3 times in a week, climbed on top of a present, climbed up the step ladder when we weren't looking. I had to take the bumper out of her crib because she was trying to use it to climb out!

I had to go outside to rescue a crying boy on the trampoline...
Layla was NOT happy about her momma walking off the porch!

is she not pitiful!?!
pitiful but precious!

I think it's nap time!
oh how quickly their moods can change!

I think she's licking the salty tears

no.... she's licking the door

MERRY CHRISTMAS ~ 2009

Last year I was in the recliner all night nursing a brand new baby so when Owen woke up and walked in the living room to see what Santa brought I was ready, mostly awake with the camera and video camera ready. This year I was still nursing the baby but we were in her room so I missed Owen's first expression...when I walked he had already seen his 'big' present from Santa, the Nintendo DS. Maybe Santa needs to start wrapping his presents so I can capture the moment! Santa only brings 3 gifts, because that's how many gifts the wise men brought Jesus and it is His birthday we're celebrating.... Owen got the Nintendo DS and 2 games that he asked for, along with other games, movies and clothes from family. Layla got the big green dinosaur thing you drop balls in, which Owen quickly noticed it was just like the one his cousin Greer had when she was a baby, (wink wink) a baby doll, and the Snow White dvd. She also got some fun toys from her brother and her cousin (aunt/uncle) and her very first Madame Alexander doll from Nonni.

she LOVES a baby, and I LOVE that she loves a baby :)

this is what Owen looked like all day!

this is Layla opening the Madame Alexander doll from Nonni...there isn't another picture because I was told she couldn't play with it (after I had taken it out and given it to her)...it has to stay in the box or on a shelf...so it's back in the box for now.
Layla gave Owen the Connect 4 game

Owen gave Layla this teapot, which she LOVES!!! mommy does to, it is teaching her to say please and thank you...I love some manners!

Mario Kart for the DS from Nonni and Poppi
Star Wars Clone Wars movie from daddy
Santa put some coal in Owens stocking...
opening the coal (stupid blogger rearranging my pictures again!)
FUN purse from auntie E, uncle Mikey, and Gigi...it is so cute, sings a little song about taking your purse along...has keys, a bracelet, a mirror, lipstick rattle, and a crinkly dollar inside.

she likes the mirror best :)

Daddy holding Layla, Layla holding the glow~worm from Nonni and Poppi, she loves it too!

playing with the Christmas spider ornament. I thought I had put all the ornaments on the top half of the tree out of her reach...pretty sure she just grew taller since I decorated! :(

pretty eyelashes
LOVE that smile, and that dimple, and that sweet baby girl!
she's happy with a piece of paper
Owen is quite with his Nintendo DS....Santa should have brought it a long time ago ;)

My sweet sweet husband gave me a beautiful card along with ALL the gifts he lavished me with this year, the best a new lens for my camera!!! The inside of the card read....
"After all these years
you're still my beautiful bride!
When the Lord
brought us together
my heart was thrilled
to have found my true love.
You continue to make my heart
leap when I think of you.
Through the years
we've faced difficult situations
and have had an abundance
of great times together.
Journeying through this life
with you is a joy
I will always treasure.
As we celebrate Jesus
and His wondrous birth,
I'll thank Him again
for bringing you,
the one my heart loves,
into my life.
With All My Love
At Christmas
I LOVE YOU
Paul
I am so blessed to have a husband that loves me so deeply, but most of all I am blessed to have husband that loves Jesus!
hear that? ....exactly!

she loves a laptop!

she's a keeper!

Christmas Eve 2009

This time last year we were bringing home a bundle of joy from the hospital...to a house full of family waiting to meet our newest addition...sigh.... so, this year we spent Christmas eve at my mom's, the first place Layla ever went...last year on Christmas day...when she was 2 days old!

carrying the book Nonni's sweet neighbor gave the kids when they were caroling...

giving it to daddy so he can read it to her...
Nonni and Poppi

Layla loves that snowman...especially when Poppi gives it to her.

Owen got Guesstures...we ALL played this on our Thanksgiving family vacation and had the BEST time...so fun!

bright eyes
back home, leaving cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer...
