Tennessee ~ West Gate Resort

We had a long weekend in Tennessee, our first little 'vacation' as a family of four. We got a really great deal on 3 nights at the West Gate Resort in Gatlinburg, the only catch was sitting through a timeshare presentation. I had heard and read terrible things about this sort of thing and it was a very long 90 (120!) minute presentation with 2 kids but well worth the money we saved! Would I do it again....don't think so, maybe if the kids weren't with us. Anyway, the resort was really beautiful and convenient. There were restaurants on site, which was great because Gatlinburg was CRAZY, like a Myrtle Beach in the mountains and that's just not the kind of atmosphere we enjoy. There was also an indoor water park, lots of fun, as well as outdoor heated pools and some great playgrounds. Another great service on site is the golf cart shuttles, due to the size and incline of the resort, they will pick you up from your room and take you where you want to go on site. They also have shuttle buses to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge so you don't have to drive to town, fight the traffic, pay for parking, etc.

bright and early Saturday morning. When I reserved our room it didn't dawn on me the NEED for a separate bedroom! Layla goes to sleep between 6:30-7:00, in her very quiet room with soothing worship music playing. She LOVES a schedule! So needless to say the first night was a disaster and the next two weren't as bad but I certainly learned a valuable lesson!

Love the pictures! The resort reminds me of Wilderness Lodge at Disney. :)
